TR-T0257 PTV Vissim - Freeway Managed Lanes and Active Traffic Management (US)

In this four-hour course explores configuring freeway facilities such as hard and soft-barrier separated managed lanes, restricted access lanes for HOV or Transit, driver behavior calibration, as well as how to implement active traffic management strategies.
By the end of the course participants should feel confident modeling static and time-dependent toll lanes, ramp meters, speed harmonization, and hard-shoulder facilities using PTV Vissim software.

Advanced

Experienced PTV Vissim users or Traffic engineers from cities and engineering firms that are studying freeway corridors.

You successfully participated in one of our basic courses or have similar experience with PTV Vissim.

• Configuring restricted access lanes such as HOV, Transit, or Truck lanes
• Configuring Managed Lane facilities such as Toll roads or HOT lanes
• Configuring Static and Dynamic (time, speed, and/or delay dependent) tolling models.
• Using Attribute modifications to model active traffic management facilities such as variable speed limits, hard shoulder running, and ramp metering.
