• Short Description

PTV Visum provides various functions for analysis, planning, visualization and evaluation of PuT supply. One of the main characteristics of PTV Visum is that it allows you to model both PuT supply and demand and to combine the two subsystems.

Based on a road network model, you will learn how to model all basic PuT supply elements, e.g. stops, lines and timetables, vehicle types and operators. In addition, you will get to know how to visualize and analyze PuT model data in tables and graphs in PTV Visum.

Based on an existing PuT supply model, you will learn how to adopt PuT demand data and combine it with supply data by applying several methods for passenger behavior simulation. We will thus focus on assignment procedures that allow us to determine passenger routes and calculate and display passenger volumes. Where useful, we will also look at procedures used to calculate and visualize the volume/capacity ratio of links, lines and vehicle trips.

The course "Modelling Public Transport networks and combining supply and demand" impart the basics required for participation in our other PuT courses.

This course serves as the basis for any PTV Visum application and further training courses.
